The first entry returns have been received and it looks as though the tournament concept is being received quite well. We (your committee) are working away publicising the event and sending out entry forms by the score. We have finished the indoor club circulation and are about to start sending entry forms to the outdoor clubs so expect to see them on your notice-boards when you arrive there for the new season. Please encourage your friends to enter this inaugural unified tournament and get those entries back to us as soon as you can. Remember, 1st July, 2009 is the closing date and we can’t really leave it much later otherwise the programme and draw will not be printed in time! So please help us by getting your entries in promptly. Please also look at our “Latest News” page and read the statement from Bowls England in respect of my text on the entry form which was inaccurate. The statement explains all. I have also asked Bowls England for a further confirmation or otherwise that members of counties not unified by the cut off date (as yet to be determined) will find themselves unaffiliated to BE and unable to enter National Competitions.
